School Trip to Spain: El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz
St Stephens – May 2023
We were happy to welcome the second group of St Stephens School in El Puerto de Santa María ! As well as the first group, they stayed with us in the Spark Residence where they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through the cultural activities that the Spark team had organized.
Just as the first group of St Stephens, they arrived on a monday, at Gibraltar airport where the chaperone picked them up. As soon as they arrived to Spark, everyone went to the rooftop and enjoyed barbecue together.
Since they had arrived on Monday, their program was almost the same as the first group like going to the supermarket on tuesday to buy the paella vegetables, visiting the castle in El Puerto, and then finally had some free time at the beach.
Their third day started with a spanish class, and then walked to the ferry for Cádiz. They did some shopping, ate churros with chocolate, visited the Torre Tavira and had a relaxing time at the Génoves Park.
On thursday, after the breakfast, they had their rota activities : three typical Spanish classes. They made paella with Iris, had a Flamenco dance class with Lucia, and in their Spanish class they made postcards about their trip. After 3 rounds everyone got ready and went to the park where they enjoyed the delicious paella they made themselves. Later in the afternoon, everyone had a fun time at the padel.
On their last day, they had their departure ceremony with pictures of their stay and everyone got a Spanish certificate. Later, they left us for the UK.
We enjoyed our time with St Stephens here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
