School Trip to Spain: El Puerto de Santa María and Cádiz
St Stephens – May 2023
On the 18th of May, we were happy to welcome the first group of St Stephens School in El Puerto de Santa María ! As always, the group stayed with us in Spark Residence where they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through cultural activities that the Spark team had organized.
Their trips started on Monday when they arrived to Gibraltar. When they arrived to Spark, everyone unpacked and then ate barbacoa on the rooftop before resting.
On Tuesday, everyone started with a Spanish class and went to visit El Puerto de Santa María. While visiting, they also visited the market where they bought the paella vegetables. They also went to visit the castle before going back to Spark residence, and later they had some free time at the beach. To finish the day, everyone watched a movie at Spark.
On Wednesday, they started with a spanish class, and then walked to the ferry for Cádiz. They did some shopping, ate churros with chocolate, visited the Torre Tavira and had a relaxing time at the Génoves Park.
Their fourth day started with a spanish lesson followed by three typical Spanish classes : paella cooking class, Flamenco dance class, and Spanish class where they made postcards about their trip. After 3 rounds, everyone moved to the rooftop and enjoyed the delicious paella they made themselves with the help of Iris. Later, they had their departure ceremony with pictures of their stay, everyone got their Spanish certificates as always from Spark, even the teachers.
On Friday, they left us for the UK.
We really enjoyed our time with St Stephens here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
