School Trip to Spain: Cadiz and El Puerto de Santa Maria

We were happy to welcome LancasterSchool in El Puerto de Santa María as our first school group of theyear ! The group stayed with us in our Spark Residence where they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through the cultural activities that the Spark team had organized.
Their trips started on tuesday with their arrival at Gibraltar where they were picked up by the Chaperone. Everyone were then transferred to El Puerto, the same evening everybody went to the beautiful beaches to play some games and once arrived to the Spark residence, they all gathered to the rooftop and enjoyed together barbecue.
On Wednesday , they started by having a spanish lesson, followed by going to see el Puerto de Santa María city centre and then buying some snacks on the traditional Market. The day continued with a visit to el Castillo de San Marcos. In the afternoon, the group went to the beach again, they enjoyed it, it was a really great time. After a really long day,it was time to watch a movie and chill before going to bed!
On Thursday, the day started with a spanish lesson, then everyone went to Cadiz. They visited Torre Tavira and learned about Cádiz history in the arqueological museum, and had some free time for shopping or seeing more of the city. That same night, they enjoyed a nice meal on the rooftop , to end the night they had some time to enjoy music, dance or play games.
On Friday, they started by going to el Puerto de Santa María city centre and having some delcious churros and then buying some snacks on the traditional Market. The day continued with the “rota” activities : they had three typical Spanish classes. They made paella, had a Flamenco dance class, and in their Spanish class they made postcards about their trip. After a few rounds, everyone moved to the roof and enjoyed the delicious paella everyone made. After paella, in the afternoon, the group went to the city center and took part on a exiing and fun scavenger hunt. After a really long day, they had their departure ceremony after enjoying some tapas at a traditional spanish bar , with pictures of their stay and everyone got a Spanish certificate.
On their last day they went to Baelo Claudia, where they csaw Roman Ruins of an old portuary city, later they had their lunch and we went to a shopping mall before they took their flight back to the UK.









We enjoyed our time with Lancaster here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
