Trip to Spain: Cadiz, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Sancti Petri and Sevilla
Pipers Corner – November 2023
We were delighted to welcome Piper’s Corner School to a school trip to El Puerto de Santa María! The group stayed with us in our Spark Residence where they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through the cultural activities that the Spark team had organized.
Their trips started on Wednesday with their arrival at Gibraltar where they were picked up by the Chaperone Pedro. Once they arrived to the Spark Residence, they had a great afternoon at beach before enjoying a barbecue on our roof top terrace. Later, they walked into town.
On Thursday they started the dat with a Spanish lesson then the group got ready to walk around El Puerto, where they got to visit the “bodega Osborne” and Castilla San Marcos where Columbus stayed before going to the new world. After again heading to the beach in the afternnon they ate tapas out at a local restaurante.
On Friday they had more classes before later heading to Cadiz (the oldest city in Europe) by boat across the bay of cadiz. There they visited Torre Tavira, walked through Genovés park and had some free time for shopping or seeing more of the city. Later, they went to the beach and had some free time to relax after a really long day. In the evening they had their awards ceremony and slideshow.
On Saturday, they had some more Spanish classes, before heading to Gibraltar for their flight back to Spain. We had a great time having Piper’s with us.
On their last day they went to Sevilla with the Chaperone, got to visit the Alcazar and the Giralda. At the end of the visit, they went to the airport and took their flight back to the UK.
We enjoyed our time with Pipers Corner here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
