School Trip to Spain: Cádiz, El Puerto de Santa María and Sevilla

We were happy to welcome Marling School in El Puerto de Santa María ! The group stayed with us in our Spark Residence where they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through the cultural activities that the Spark team had organized.
Their trips started on Thursday with their arrival at Sevilla where they were picked up by the Chaperone. Everyone were then transferred to El Puerto, once arrived to the Spark residence, they went to the beach and had some free time by playing games. Later, they all gathered to the rooftop and enjoyed together barbecue and some games.
Their second day started with a Spanish lesson then the group got ready to walk around El Puerto, where they got to visit the market and bought all the ingredients necessary to do Paella . Everyone then went to the cafetin where they ate churros with chocolate in the center of El Puerto, followed with an amazing visit of the Museo Municipal. The afternoon, the group went to the beach again, they enjoyed it, it was a really great time. To finish this amazing day they had a movie night!
On Monday, they started with the “rota” activities : they had three typical Spanish classes. They made paella, had a Flamenco dance class, and in their Spanish class they made postcards about their trip. After a few rounds, everyone moved to the roof and enjoyed the delicious paella everyone made. After paella, everyone went to La Puntilla beach and had a really fun time in the water. After dinner on the rooftop, everyone began to play games together!
On Wednesday, everyone went to Cadiz. They visited Torre Tavira and learned about Carnaval in Museo del Carnaval, walked through Genovés park and had some free time for shopping or seeing more of the city. . Later that night, they ate tapas at “Lo de Ester”, along with the Chaperone Pedro and all the bar stuff who made everyone sing and dance. After a really long day, they had their departure ceremony after dinner on the rooftop, with pictures of their stay and everyone got a Spanish certificate.
On their last day they went to Sevilla with the Chaperone, got to visit Alcazar, Catedral de Sevilla and have a walk in Sevilla city centre. At the end of the visit, they went to the airport and took their flight back to the UK.
We enjoyed our time with Dane Court here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
