School Trip to Spain: Andalusia and El Puerto de Santa Maria
Taunton School March 2018
Taunton School visited us in El Puerto de Santa María and spend a few days full of amazing experiences. The school stayed with Spanish host families, participated in a variety of cultural activities and had the opportunity to wander around El Puerto and explore the area of Cadiz.
The school group participated in multiple entertaining activities such as flamenco dance class and paella class, where they practised their Spanish but also learnt how to prepare a traditional dish. The students were lucky enough to be present in a procession taking place in the centre of the city, due to the Holy Week. Students also visited the beautiful city of Cadiz and some of its famous sights like ´Torre Tavira´ and ´Parque Genoves´. What is more, they visited the Castillo San Marcos and one of the most famous beaches of El Puerto. The group had the opportunity to practice their Spanish with the host families as well as with other locals, while also took Spanish classes that helped them understand both the language and the culture of Andalucia.
It was great fun having Taunton School with us and we hope all students and teachers had an unforgettable experience!
