School Trip to Spain: El Puerto, Sancti Petri and Cadiz
Cheadle Hulme – July 2023
In July, we were happy/exciting to welcome Cheadle Hulme School in El Puerto de Santa María ! The group stayed in the camping of Las Dunas, but they took part in our Spanish classes and learned about the Spanish culture through the activities that the Spark team had organized.
Their trips started on Saturday, with their arrival at Malaga airport where they were picked up by the Spark chaperone, they were then transferred to El Puerto de Santa Maria, to Las Dunas where they stayed during those 5 days.
On Sunday, everyone went to Sancti Petri with the coach for kayaking and had some free time later at the beach. Since it was really hot, the group got back to Las Dunas ahead of schedule. In Las Dunas, they had some relaxing time at the pool before dinner.
Their third day started with a walking tour through El Puerto where they got to see “La Plaza de Toros”, the Castle. After that, everyone had a tennis lesson and game with a coach, it was really fun. Later, everyone got back to the hotel, had some free time at the pool and then showered before dinner.
On Tuesday, the group had a little brekkie at the “cafetin” with churros and then walked down to the ferry and left for Cadiz. They went to the market where they bought some food. They visited Torre Tavira, ate churros con chocolate, walked through Genovés park and had some free time for shopping or seeing more of the city.
On Wednesday, they started with the “rota” activities at Spark : they had three typical Spanish classes. They made paella, had a Flamenco dance class, and in their Spanish class they made postcards about their trip. After a few rounds, everyone moved to the roof and enjoyed the delicious paella everyone made. After that, the group directly went to Waterpark with the coach and the Chaperone. Later that night, it was the departure ceremony after dinner, with pictures of their stay and everyone got a Spanish certificates. Everyone was happy, it was the end of an adventure for some, gifts were exchanged, and the teachers and chaperone knew just what to do to set the mood for this last little evening in Spain.
On their last day, the coach accompanied them to Malaga where they left us for the UK.

We enjoyed our time with Cheadle Hulme here and hope it was a memorable experience for everyone.
