Several hours South of Mexico City, Oaxaca offers the student a breather from the hectic pace of bustling M.C. while introducing the traveler to Mexico’s rich Indian culture and tons of beautiful beaches. With a great year round mild climate and decent Spanish prices, this makes Oaxaca a great Mexican center for Spanish immersion. Plus, it’s not too far from Mexico’s beaches.
Getting There: Fly into Xoxocotlan Airport in Oaxaca, OAX. Most schools offer private airport transfers to the school and/or host families. A budget option would be to fly into Mexico City and take taxi to TAPO bus station and take a luxury line bus Linea Uno or ADO GL) to Oaxaca.
