Montanita is exactly what you expect from a beach town. Plenty of surf, tasty seafood, and a laid back lifestyle. In fact, this town is the surfing capital of Ecuador. Many expats call this place home and it is definitely entrenched on the backpackers circuit. Restaurants and bars catering to westerners encase the small thoroughfares.
Getting There: Fly into Guayaquil airport. Montanita is a few hours by bus.
