Baños is a delightful little town a few hours from Quito. It is widely known for its plenitude of waterfalls and outdoor sports as well as its taffy. Sunday’s are big days as the city swells up to add a couple thousand for services. City also is known for it’s medicinal hot springs.
Getting There: Fly into Quito airport. Buses from main terminal leave to Baños daily passing through Ambato.

Accommodation: Notable hotels are Los Nevados & Plantas y Blanco; prices are very reasonable, $10-15 a night and there are other options for cheap accommodation in Baños,Ecuador
Navigation: Rather small town built on grid system. Very navigable. Everything flows around Central Park (Parque Central)
Safety: No crime, albeit petty theft.
